Local High School takes a stand against drunk driving

| The local county safety officials participated in the reenactment of a fatal crash
Dubbed as the "Prom Promise", Oxford High School hosted a reenactment of a fatal DUI incident in accordance to the upcoming senior prom. In attempt to ensure that the only memories students make of this special occasion are joyous memories, the Oxford School District took it upon themselves to drive home to the students the real consequences of a drunk driver behind the wheel.
Setting up a scene that involved two destroyed vehicles, five drama students from the school's drama department worked alongside the Oxford Police Department, Fire Department, and Emergency Management Services, along with the local hospital's ambulances.
